I will get some readings when i get home later in the week and see where that takes me. yes i am using a digital fluke. I think that the guy who looked at my alternator did not want to just replace the regulator for the reasons that you have outlined, although he did not describe them as good as you have.

Yes could you send me the number of the guy who recons alternators, I will phone him up for a craic. If I could get my alternator reconditioned and a 12 month warrenty for 80 quid plus postage, i would be very happy indeed.
