Help! TD6 Chipped or 4.4 LPG?

My impending purchase is coming together.

I would like some feedback on the title please?

I have driven both so need longterm owners views?

I do 15k a year so LPG will work out, but my wanting for a dark exterior with the cream or sandstone leather coupled with fitted rear ent might narrow the available LPG converted RR's.

Yes I could have the conversion done but would rather not,
I am sure I will have to have a TD6 chipped but we're only talking £500.

Any help greatly recieved.

Jeremy

Thank you,
Will give them a shout tomorrow.

What is the simplest way to tell if A FBH pre heater is fitted?

That's another must for me.

hi, i too looked at diesels and petrols, but after driving a few off each the petrol hooked me, cant say about the v8 diesels but as i said the petrol was the one for me, i all so asked about the fbh and they are not fitted to the petrol. did read a post somewere about some one fitting one to his petrol with a small diesel tank,a bit to much for me...you can get the lpg done for under 2k.

Will get out and see more.

One more thing if you guys don't mind.

LR maindealer purchase and warranty
or
Indy/private with aftermarket warranty?

Or forget the warranty?

The car will be circa £15-20k

If you're happy to ignore fuel consumption then go for the petrol engine regardless of whether it's had an LPG conversion. It's better in every respect, in my opinion (I've had both), and I think the TD6 is a little underpowered for such a heavy car.

There are rumours flying about of impending tax rises on LPG anyway so it may not continue to be a cheap option.

Best of luck. Rules are made for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.

Surely cheaper over my mileage?

287 bhp at circa 30mpg like for like based on cost not mpg?
225 bhp at circa 22/25 mpg?

Any veiws on the Chipped/Mapped TD6?

appologies - I was trying to be helpful!

There is a load of information already on here re chipping a TD6 - a search will turn up a load of invaluable information that many contributors have already contributed - you are likely to find a lot more by doing a search first as many will not want to keep having to repeat posts and information that has already been written.
