Fitting AUX socket

I am fitting sockets for my iPhone power and audio in the centre console of my 2005 s/c, getting access under the ash tray holder just in front of the cubby box between the seats.

I am taking the power from the feed to the power socket in the cubby box which seems very straightforward and wondered if anyone knew whether the AUX feed to the AUX socket in the rear ran through the center console so that I could splice in and get a feed for the AUX socket I am fitting in the front. This would be very convenient, especially if the AUX cable to the rear has a connector to the rear socket rather than being hard wired to the socket in the rear.

Any help would be appreciated.

In the absence of any insights, I removed the rear A/V panel today and pulled it appart to remove the broken tip of my AUX jack. It turns out that it is a sealed unit with a couple of connectors consolidating all the various A/V wiring, so no AUX jack point to tap into for an additional socket in the front. I managed to break open the sealed unit and reomve the broken parts and get it back togehter. The laternative was to spend £120 on a replacement.

For the time being, I will have to continue connecting my iphone to the stereo using the is rear connection which gets kicked and knocked continuously by passing children.
