Not long been home from the dealer, not ideal picking up a car in the dark as I couldn't really see it much but it looks awesome in Grey with the privacy glass.

The drive home was sublime, SOOOOOOO smooth compared to the TD6. There is only one niggle that needs addressing, I kept getting a message on the dash saying "Door Open" and the interior lights kept glowing on and off like a ghost was in the car! I stopped at the motorway services, opened and shut all the doors and stopped and started, but it came back, who knows, it may go away on its own, the car has been unused for a couple of months, maybe it just needs using, sometimes things like this go away of their own accord.

I'm sure it's a loose wire or dodgy sensor that can quickly be checked by my local dealer, not the greatest first drive together but the rest of the car is SO damned nice. The Vogue SE really does feel that bit more special than the standard Vogue. I'd forgotten how much I liked the Adaptive Headlights, really handy.

It didn't take me long to get into my perfect position and getting all the audio settings just as I like them.

Tomorrow I'll fi the SC grille and Vents and then take some first photos to post here.

Looks nice in the drive way, we have an open fronted tripple garage, two slots filled with gorgeous Range Rovers!

Time to read the manuals and get to know all the added features. Discovery 4 HSE

Ok, so it's never plain sailing but I am not unhappy!

After the ghostly messages and flickering of interior lights last night I got the car out today to fit the extras and then after a while the battery was flat!

LR Assistance came out and did the business, its all ok, just 2 months on the dealer's forecourt taking its toll, once its in daily use it will be fine and I've been out in it today, no odd messages!

Took a couple of pics, not the best light but gives you an idea of what she looks like, she drives beautifully.

I noticed when I was going over her that one of the alloys has a black SC centre cap, the other 3 are green, and the tyres are all 275/45/20 and not the proper 255/50/20.

Do you think it matters? They have plenty of tread left so not needing replacement any time soon. Discovery 4 HSE

mine needs a bit of thump to close properly. (and send the message to the sensors)
I used to have the alarm going off on itself because of that.
Sometimes when someone else closes the car, it happens and i have to go to the car and close it myself.

I think my next 1 might be grey.

Having lived with a TD6 for the best part of 3 years and nearly 50,000 miles, I have to say the difference between that and the TDV8 is phenomenal.

It really just glides along like a petrol V8 and feels SO good. those of you with a TDV8 already know this of course.

Mick, you should get a TDV8, I reckon it's better than the 4.2 SC V8.

nice motor Adam, have been looking at the same but with Ivory/Sand leather to replace my RRS TDv8. Only problem with replacing the RRS with a FF TDv8 is I loose the lovely rumbly exhaust note the RRS has when you floor it. That would be too uncivilised for most FFRR owners! As you have already found it makes the TD6 seem like a wheezy old cow................
