What's the difference?

Just seen this on Amazon:

It's for VW Audi and Skoda

It looks the same as the RSW Allcomms cable I bought recently.

Hi Noddy,
The board will be different although as far as basic comms go it will actually be quit similar. But Storey has added a security feature so that it will only work with his sw with a key. The housing is prob the same. I have the same one as well (not RSW - generic VAG)
RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr,
P38, and 2 L322s
(wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too)

standard obd2 uses standard pins so will work in any car ... but that only gives you obd2 stuff.

if you want any of the manufacturer specific communications ( EAS, body control, heating etc) , then they often use different pins to talk ... which the generic cables likely wouldn't have fitted, plus can talk at unique communications rates ... so in short, needs different hardware chips inside a connector which looks the same. V8 or else ...

I've just ordered it for my Golf. Reason I asked was just in case I could have used the RSW on the Golf 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
