Reminds me of my old GMC Vandura, once it was hot (after a long drive) I had to crawl underneath, hit the startermotor while my wife operated the key Smile Terribly embarrassing at 23.00 blocking the gate of a Formula 1 hotel in France, cool though that I got help from the people standing outside the hotel, they pushed me into the carpark Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

John,

if i take the pump off is there anyway to test it?

Whilst i dont think i hear it, it is often hard to due to the ambient noise, working near an airport and leaving near the M6 and 62 and a neighbour who works on his ac replica often make it hard Sad

Im thinking if i take it off and do a quick strip down will i be able to see if its duff?

I sometimes here it and it sounds like a pulsing more than a constant drone, as if it changes when it gets upto speed and pressure.

Would a fault reader show this if it was reading live data? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

It's a sealed unit so nothing to see, I cut mine open in a lathe Shocked

If you remove the cover for a few days you will be able to assess if it's running or not. If the engine doesn't start just give it a thump with a spanner and it should kick in.

Can't help with the fault codes data

It was fine for a few days and then after a drenching yesterday while laning that caused another problem its been playing up Sad

Maybe as it was hot from running for a few hours at low speed and then get a very cold shock it wasnt happy... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Ok the part number i have for the pump is WFX000181.

This also shows up as used on the rover 75, Freelander and another LR product.

Is this the number you had stamped on your kit when you got it john as OE prices vary from £60-140 for the same part number.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Ok just checked and part LR023043 tallies with the above part number and is used on more vehicles than i thought.

The ones marked as for a TD4 seem cheaper but if they are the same part number surely they provide the same pressure...

I wonder if its like the oil breather system in that the parts are used between the 2 being both BMW engines...

Well best double check at lunch and order up if i get a few minutes between landings and nothing else gets too noisy!! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well new pump is on its way but it died once this morning on the way to work but after a restart was lacking power so im guessing the pump is no longer ablt to maintain flow but no warnings are coming up which i would have thought would happen if there was a fuel flow issue... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well [pump has been replaced and sounds healthier but i reckon air must be getting into the system somewhere so just trying to navigate RAVE and find the pipe routings but its a blooming pig to find your way around it!!

Is it possible to replace the current pipes with normal fuel pipes that are clear so i can easily see where the air is getting in?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Does anyone understand this as to which pipe is which??

Im guessing that one is the supply and one is the return but what the heck is the 3rd one for?!?

I reckon that one of the hard lines has cracked somewhere and possibly is the one that is the feed from the tank to the pump for the air thats being drawn into the system Sad

may just drop it into a garage tomorrow and ask them to track it down...

I just cant see where the primary pump connects into the lines on the second picture and dont really want to have to strip it all down to find out Sad

Has anyone else suffered air ingress into the fuel lines on the TD6 before?[/img] FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
