Just back with the Motorhome as i went down to Southerness for the bank holiday weekend , and noticed a few of the caravans had these large poles with flags and such on them , are they just for show or do they have any use , maybe some of you tuggers could enlighten me …..

Normally have the Saltire on the top of mine and a set of lights so I can find the van in the dark after a few nightcaps.

I've hired a 5 berth van for the October school week, heading up to Elie with it.......quick question for those caravanners on here - are the mirrors OK on the RR or do you use additional mirrors (strap on before anyone cracks a joke !) Erm, not quite. They are only a legal requirement if you cannot see the back corner of the van in the regular mirrors. This is only an issue in a FFRR if you have a 2.5m wide van. I don't use towing mirrors with a 2.3m van since I can see the back corners, so it naturally follows that I can see in a straigt line another 15 metres or so.
