Do I Renew Warranty

Guys

After a bit of general advice, I've got my renewal through and it's 755 for a year and I have to pay the first 10% of the claim as my 2004 has done over 60thou it's actually on 63

It's been converted to LPG so I'm not sure how much of the engine they would still cover

What's your views should I renew??

Thanks
Neil

Holy God

That is an expensive premium !

I haven't even checked for my FFRR yet as I have a mate in the trade, but I personally would rather take my chances and find a good independent

Plus a 10% contribution ?

I was offered a warranty from warrant direct for that kind of money and said no thank you. They came back to me and offered me a £80 or £90 deal I think it was. It covers me for everything the main warranty does.. BUT, the car has to breakdown. With a normal warranty if a warning light or whatever happens you can take it to a dealer and get it fixed. With my warranty if the car breaks down and i cant continue my journey I have to call out the rescue services and get it towed to the dealer, then I am covered. I thought it would be good insurance against a gearbox failure, engine fault or major meltdown.. It's worth considering anyway. Previously..

From a purely mathematical perspective, you would need to make a claim around £2k for that to be economically viable.

I'd advise taking the money and putting it in the highest interest-paying account where you can still access your money quickly. That way, if you need it, it's there. If not, it can go into other things, or saving for the next big thing. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

I took a Warranty Direct warranty out as much as I love my Range Rover and have had them since college, I do not have the confidence that their build quality is that brilliant. Not to mention labour bills for some things like alternator changes or turbo changes etc. Anyway, a couple of friends thought I was crazy taking out a warranty but at 60 0dd thousand miles the rear diff failed and the warranty paid up no quibbling. I think it is quiet expensive but with gearbox failure talk alone I think it is worth it.

I've got an add-on on my AA coverage - it's about a fiver a month, and in the event that you break down and need recovery, they will pay the first £500 of any garage bill. I know that won't cover the big things, but it covers any car (or motorbike) I am in (or wife) - and £500 is always a help and I don't even notice the fiver a month.

Have a lite policy with warranty Direct. You have to break down to get a payout but to be fair they have just payed out for half my gearbox repair. However I did have to jump through hoops to get it and it took a month. Not bad for less than £100 Mine was a blue one! Smile
