It doesn't really matter how many people have managed to get it to work. It's a stupid and dangerous thing to do, anyone who does it should be treated the same as a drunk driver full stop. That may seem harsh but I spend much of my working life digging injured people out of car wrecks. Many such people are totally innocents who were minding their own business before some idiot ploughed into the back of their cars whilst being distracted or otherwise not paying attention. The FF is a heavy vehicle, anyone hit by one is likely to come off worse.

I know that some will disagree with me but that is how I feel. Anything that has the potential to prevent any driver from being 100% alert should be clamped down with heavily. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

For me personally it's being on the phone that distracts me the most, and I mean when I'm on Bluetooth !

Sat Nav should also be locked whilst the vehicle is in motion, the number of idiots who input addresses whilst driving all over the road is terrifying

I think that it has little to do with what you can and cannot do while driving. It is just a mindset, if I feel I can't concentrate on a phone call due to traffic, I won't answer it or I just stop talking/listening for a bit. Putting in a new address in the satnav, just pull over for a minute and you're sorted etc. etc.

Safety is a mindset and especially important in the industry that I work in, where you can lose your job over not holding the handrail on a staircase.

If someone wants their TV on the move then let them and hope they are smart enough to know when to use it and when not. I personally would not use it (hell I can't even get the picture on the front screen while stationary, as it is a US car ) but then traffic conditions here are a bit "hectic" shall we say  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Why not have the complete ICE system lock out, in fact while we are at it SWMBO'S and other front seat passengers should be banned too oh and let's not forget the distracting kids in back

Anyone know where the line should be drawn or shall we just leave the decision and responsibility to the driver

I value my life and those of my passengers plus I love my FFRR just the way it is with each panel as supplied from the factory so I choose not to have TV on the move or hold my mobile phone when driving but I do use Bluetooth and the Nav and change radio stations and tracks on the USB stick and even talk to my wife from time to time I'm such a rebel, should I just hand myself in to the local nick now

For the original poster if the need must just use the 753 hack.
