Thats true and theres going to be another hike soon and diesel will go up another 1-3p/litre in the next few months Sad

But like i said, avoid it and use GOOD BioD and save a fortune! its not far off LPG prices Wink

Having checked several websites I was under impression that Bio Diesel was not to be used in TDV8.

Maybe somebody could shed some light on this one. Thumbs Up

Technically any car that's been made is not to be used with BioD as they don't want to fund the testing of it.

Easier to just to say its not to be used.

I've never had a problem in various cars I've used it in long term, you just need to make sure its made well and not a half a55ed job.

Dont confuse with Veg oil as they are very different things Wink FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Hi, I am getting my 2010 MY 2009 Range Rover TDV8 Vogue tomorrow has 38000 miles on it and full service history if it was you guys would you put Bio Diesel in it and if so where would be best place to obtain such a fuel.

Sorry if this seems like a dumb post Confused but I have no experience whatsoever with Bio Diesel.

is it safe to use BioDiesel on the TDV8? I remember when I had my BMW 730d (only diesel i ever owned) there was a sticker on the inside of the fuel flap saying "Do not use Bio Diesel"

Nearly 20k + in my TD6 and very very few miles on pump diesel and its still running great. Apparently its a quiet TD6 as well Wink

If it were me i'd slowly test the waters, maybe half a tank for first few tanks, then check fuel filter, then go to full tanks. In winter add some winterizer(same as with normal diesel) and maybe some normal diesel to thin it and jobs a good en Smile

Make sure its been tested to the ISO or EN standard and also dont be afraid to ask for a small sample to test yourself. There are videos on the tube and guides on how to test how good bio is Smile

Most places should make it very well as recovering all the stuff out saves them money when they are making 1000's of litres a week of it if not more.

I've used it in a brand new SDV6 for about 2-3k without any problems Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

On the subject of remaps I'm going to be having the pulleys done on my SC soon, might even get it remapped after. I'd like to see your TDV8's keep up after that! Wink Although I guess you'd catch me after 200 miles as my tank would be empty ...

Here's my 2p worth Stan.

When I had the SC I can count on the fingers of 1 hand the amount of times I ever managed more than 300 miles on a full tank. Since I've had the TDV8, I've never seen less than 400 miles, so my fag packet maths tells me that that is roughly 30% more miles per tank.......

If you take a look at the cost per mile on Fuelly, theres about a 10-15p/mile difference in favour of the diesel.

That's good enough justification for my decision, but if an itch needs scratching........ Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just get a SC ….. you won't regret it …. especially one thats is in the lower VED bracket … Thumbs Up

FBH you won't need and rarely seen in a SC ,,,

SC Quiet and Refined

TDV8 Noisy B Censored d at times more so in the hours between 1am and 6am on start up , also Refined once going

SC … Brembo Brakes

TDV8 … Pisho Brakes (well my 2010mdl anyhow as it don't have them)

Have to say tho not once did i ever reach fuel figures above 16 mpg and that was me trying to drive like a funeral director …

Lowest mpg sometimes around the 9mpg mark …. but who gives a flying Censored about mpg in an SC Thumbs Up
