Flat Battery - more like not ENOUGH batteries! | |
OK, this is what happened:
Ist time: Loading son's baggage at end of term, left the tailgate up while going to and fro from his flat. After 25 minutes, tried to start the engine - completely flat.
2nd time: Had puncture on A34. Waiting for AA, flashers on for 55 minutes. Car unlocked, all doors shut. no internal lights. Battery completely flat.
It got interesting when the AA man jacked the rear up. Because the battery was flat, the air suspension on the front depressurised completely. The car rolled forward off the jack!.....(Handbrake was on)... WTF?
LR Dealer said "yes, known fact (not problem, mind).... there are 36 computers on board - when you activate with the key fob, they all come on. Even if you go nowhere, it takes 30 minutes for them all to shut down. Leave the tailgate open for 30 minutes, and the battery will be flat"
Does this mean that people don't do picnics at Twickenham any more?
