Parking sensors

Would / could a faulty front sensor also stop the rears from working?

I'm getting the long tone when the parking sensors should be active. I've listened to them all, and one front one isn't 'ticking'

Thanks

that is strange..normally the fronts dont 'sense' until you have reversed or selected the rears...the front one is a good place to start .. ... - .- -.

When I had faulty rear loom neither front or rear worked though the good ones were ticking away.
Replaced rear loom and all work fine.

Same here.

If there is a fault on either front or back - you seem to get the error tone and none of them work.

My front parking sensors don't seem to be working and yet I don't get the error tone. The rear ones work fine. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?? I've tried putting the car in reverse first and getting someone to walk round the back and then the front. Back ones make beepbeeps, front ones don't.

I'll have to Investigate.

Front and rear sensors work on a separate circuit.

It sound like you have a sensor out at the front, you can check by switching the position in the front bumper. if the non clicking sensor moves to the new position it is the sensor, if not then it is the wiring loom. The front loom is part of the engine loom and therefore is very expensive to replace so i recommend repairing.

The front sensor become active when you press the button on the centre console or when you select reverse. See you owners handbook.

The result of the rear sensors not working maybe the PDC module being faulty. I would fix the front sensor first and see if everything is resolved. If not then a new module isn't that expensive and is an easy fix as it is just plug and play. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior
