I was also a beta TD6 tester.

Lets hope we can obtain this, looks very handy!

as for swapping yours for the BT one, did you do that with your old tv when a newer model came out.. Neutral

I didn't support Panasonic by buying a pre-release version of the hardware and participating in a public beta test like I did with IIDTool.

When I purchased the device (and even now it seems) the unit was still 'under development' and was advertised as such, all 'planned new features' would be incorporated into firmware updates - I doubt this can be activated by FW update and at no time were we told, "There will be a newer version released soon with added BT module incorporated - if you want this feature please wait until this is available"

Obviously I'm not expecting a free upgrade for the newer hardware BUT since I cant sell my old device to someone else without purchasing another VIN activation I dont see why I cant just purchase the new hardware and port my old license across (assuming this method isnt going to be just £25 cheaper than the full version)

i understand what you're saying but if someone brought the new BT unit and a newer holographic unit was developed in a few years time would this person expect an automatic upgrade...
anyways lets wait for the gap team to give us the details on this new unit .. ... - .- -.

Read my post, I'm not expecting an "automatic upgrade" - the option to pay less than full price for the new functionality would be nice, or even purchase an additional 'plug in BT module' as I essentially would have an older redundant unit if I upgraded.

The TV analogy would work here, think of it as a new TV comes out you want to purchase and you cant sell your old one as its "House number locked" - either bin it or pay extra for it to be watched by someone else in a different house.

Smacks of the old trick with albums, release an album then 1 month later release a 'Deluxe Edition - with added tracks'

what worries me more is not the inclusion of the physical BT hardware but the

more in-depth diagnostic capabilities and added functionality

If I did want to VIN unlock my old unit and sell it on this would make it virtually valueless as people will think Hmmm .... better buy the newer one with 'more features' as you can guarantee I'll need them one day and regret buying the cheaper version.

I agree, hopefully they will read this post and going off historic events on this forum they seem to have excellent customer support, I'm confident they will come up with a way to support the loyal people who supported them in the early days.

I notice there is a new IIDTool available, comes with integrated BT so you can connect your phone

Yep Cool

How can us faithful early-adopters acheive this functionality without buying a whole new unit?

Unfortunately, you can't stay with your original unit. Embarassed Looks the same outside but is all new inside. New main board with BLE bluetooth.

I do hope the legendary IIDTool DEV customer support gives us some way to achieve this

Of course. You didn't think we'd leave you hanging, did you? Wink

or a swap old for new scheme?

Yep. Thumbs Up We will let everyone know when they are avail. for the L322. They do cost a little more though - no freebies.
You can sell your old one too, btw. Additional VIN licenses can be added just as easily as the original activation and only cost ~GBP60 or so.

Jaybear , if you get a bluetooth version you wont have to rely on the dash readout...you would have to use a pc to activate and update the firmware but that will only be a few times.. ... - .- -.

A Mac updater is already available.
www.gap-diagnostic.com > Login > My Gap > My Product(s) > Downloads
and you have to choose between a PC version and a Mac version (OSx 10.5 >)

Our PC and Mac IIDController programs are still in the works, so it won't solve your pixel probs. Get your pixels fixed! It is worth it. Feels like a new car!

Yes, but you'll likely need the sensors removed from the wheels as well to completely incapacitate the system.

Thanks Stan!

Thanks for the reply Steve , but finding someone in Marseille to fix the pixels ain't an easy job ....

so i thought about waiting for the bluetooth to connect to my Mac .... as my phone is an I phone 4 , not an I phone 4S .
i will wait a little more to buy the IID BT tool ...

thanks Jaybear
