Any advice on 2007 4.4?

Hi Guys,

I'm considering a 2007 FFRR, with the 4.4 petrol engine. Does anybody have this model? I would probably fit LPG, so any experience of this would be useful, though from my experience, it would just be cheaper, more efficient, and more economical than the 4.2 S/C which I've done before.

Also any great solutions for RSE in the 2007? I've done a load of searches, but not found what I'm looking for, which I guess would be a rip off of the Autlbiography Ultimate Edition ipad mounts! Or even better being able to source the originals from Land Rover (no chance Big Cry ).

Any other thoughts or advice welcome!

Cheers,

Ask Justin P to tell you about them - he's discovered that they are slightly dearer to run than his lawnmower - I'm surprised that this sort of information isn't all over the press.

Good point - you wouldn't expect a mere 4.2 to use up brakes etc... I take it all back.

I drive an 07 4.4 and there are a few 57 played kicking about too.

Not sure that you'll see much better fuel economy compared to the S/C, but it depends how heavy your right foot is.
It was definitely the cheapest way to get into a FF with terrain response though...

Totally agree. On paper it's about 1 mpg in favour of the 4.4.

Same size (22 gallon / 100 litre) fuel tank means you're talking about (on average) an extra 22 miles per tank, which is pretty much an irrelevance. You'll get more than that sort of differential from driver to driver based on driving style and from the natural variation in efficency that occurs from engine to engine anyway.

In the real world the 4.4 may be slightly cheaper to run, but almost to the point you wouldn't notice.

(Or was that just how I justified my S/C purchase to myself and, more importantly, to SWMBO)!? Whistle Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Best i've seen is 21 on a 1000 mile roundtrip. 50/50 motorway and country roads. In town average is 16 but pressing on 12. Thats brim to brim, not OBC.
