Great car: half Lotus Elite half Reliant Robin. Always wanted one (had an Elite for a couple of years, but never a Robin) .

I have a strange liking for those too, especially the earlier model (came out on a J plate was it?) Graham

Not to worry, of course it's worth a lot less now as it was registered after 1960 and 1972 so requiring both MOT and Tax |

TBH they are not a really "in" classic and have never been worth much, although the newer Middlebridge ones do fetch alot more. The ones that went up in smoke tended to be fitted with K&N's, known to blow back fuel & ignite the sound deadening under the bonnet. Never really had any issues with MOT test, just the legendary electrical system had a mind of it's own as the earthing points were not that great, along with the early 70's wiring! |

Aye, alot are bought by rod builders for their chassis , although if you can be bothered searching on PH, there was a member who had a TVR V8 engine fitted, looked very cool & v. fast . |
