Cheap, decent alarm for van

Can anyone recommend a decent, simple alarm for my fathers Ford Escort van? I've not had an alarm fitted for years (lucky enough to buy cars with decent alarms already fitted), so am a bit out of touch?

And what can he expect to pay? Its only an old van but he wants to know if anyone opens it up for his tools

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

I have a Cobra alarm on the caravan and it's been excellent. Combined with a tracker they call me in less than 30 seconds when I forget to disarm it.

If you are fitting it yourself then I'd get a Toad ai606. Good reliable alarm, I've fitted a few to cars over the years and never had a problem with them. Current
