Sold mine two months ago - the grieving process is not getting any easier

The trouble with my car was there was nothing wrong with it ! I had an excellent motor which, other than consumables, never went wrong - it was perfect.

I guess I'll have to keep looking at the old photos.

 Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I did in January and I got a beast of an Audi 4.2 TDI but hated it after only a couple of weeks, I regret every minute of parting with mine, so much i took out new finance on the SC I now have, sod the fuel bills there is cars and then there is a Range Rover FULL FAT and the gap is huge between them, yes there is good ones and friday ones, but if you get a good one you really know it, the driving position, knowledge you can go where no one else would consider, and still leave them behind in comfort on the motorway.

Problem is its a love hate thing as they can be an unreliable piece of but they are a complicated piece of kit.
Dealers vary as we all know I have fell out with a few.
But I sit at night and glance out the window at it ( bit sad) I can understand with the fuel costs you SC boys getting depressed but why go to the cost of ditching the best car you ever owned! Mine was a blue one!

Another don't do it from me. I have had several of these moments which have resulted in brief liaisons with BMW, Saab, Audi, Integrale (OK so I should have kept that), Peugeot (economy), Mercedes but none of have lasted more than 7 months. All I have now is the wife reminding me how much money I have wasted. On the plus side she told me it wouldn't last each time I justified the change from the FFRR on economic reasons and positively encouraged me to buy an FFRR again.

I'm also on the side of the don't do it brigade, up to last year I had an 02 plate petrol FF which although quite old it was exceptional to drive, I went down the road of swapping when I came across a nearly new Jaguar xf premium luxury which was a demonstrator with all the toys, now this is a lovely car and always turns heads everywhere but it's not a FFRR so as soon as the right deal comes along I will once more change to the RR. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

I think that most of the cars that are worth having are expensive to run. I had a new BMW 330D Coupe a few years ago and it was a lovely car, comfortable, fast and economical. Mechanically I had no problems with it but I encountered the expense of having 3 punctures in six months on 19" runflats which cost £350 each! So it was economical in one sense and not in others. I only kept it for 12 months.

I had a few problems with my SC initially but I forgave it as it makes me smile, for some reason, in a way that achieving a few more mpg wouldn't.

if anything this thread is cementing the idea that I want an FF.. cheers

Im in the dont do it camp, i thought i would miss my 535d but i dont, the full fat is simply so good all round, fast enough, comfy, damn comfy and the theres the knowledge that it can go pretty much any where. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Been looking around too. All down to the fuel costs really

Over the past few weeks ive test driven a few Merc, Toyota, Audi and looked at BMW (just don't like em, sorry) and nothing comes near the FF. It's very difficult once you've had a £60k+ car to think anything other than, you would be moving downmarket.

Just look out on the drive... How does that make you feel?

Anyway think I've resolved my feelings. I went on the LR Experience on Monday (thanks to Lookers PL twitter comp) and after three hours in a new 4.4 around the course I now know where my heart lies again. Sometimes the soul just needs feeding!

P.S. already been on the LR used pages already

i am adding my don't do it vote here. The technical issues can drive you crazy sometimes as we all know and at the same time they drive so incredibly well that you can forgive a lot. i'd give it a bit of time, do some test drives and compare the comfort and luxury with the test drives and then see if those cars give you the same lovely feeling as the FFRR. and don't forget, there are no perfect cars, just cars that have some good and some bad, it is just how much the good outweighs the bad. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Every car I have owned got me to the same point, but with Range Rovers there is something special about them. I still miss my Classic, and it was the most unreliable car I ever owned, yet when it worked I always enjoyed it and had a big grin on my face.

I have just come back from holiday and drove a hire car for a week, always a good way to miss the old FullFat parked back at home. Absence always makes the heart grow stronger, try the greener grass and you will see that it is not as tasty as the field you have..... Tom

My FFSC is staying (for now at least), the BMW 335i Touring was not for me as the step down was to far, not to mention the P155 Take part-ex price they offered. The sales guy said the RR trade price was under book at the moment, and that 'glasses' is only a guide, whatever I thought, lets hear what you can do on the BMW finance and that was too.
