England 2016 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Causeway Grey
range rover sport loan car

well, where do we start.....
my 2011 vogue has just gone back into dealers for another round of repairs.
not major but shouldn't happen on a £70K car. Evil or Very Mad
vehicle is just over a year old and has done 18K miles by me from new..
i had the autobiography design grill and vents fitted from new, at an extortionate cost , and had found the chrome on the vents bubbling. these were changed by dealer unfortunately they now don't line up properly.
the front passenger wing also doesn't line up with the door so thats going into the LR body shop for rectification also.
the drivers seat squab leather has worn away on the door side so that is being changed too.
i also found that the rear washer leaks everywhere. again another fix required.
anyway, they have loaned me a 2012 sport HSE with only 4000 miles on it, in black.
i will say that i have been pleasantly surprised with the car,and probably upsetting a few vogue owners here, feel that at the moment the RRS is probably a better built car. Big Cry
the quality of the interior on the new RRS model is far superior to my vogue and the feel of quality throughout the vehicle just feels so much better. Thumbs Up
the steering, handling and braking just feel so much tighter and more precise and even shutting things like tailgate, doors and glovebox feel much more solid and quality. Thumbs Up
it,s now made me wonder that when i replace my current car do i want to spend another £25K on a car that is meant to be the flagship model or save the money and buy "the inferior model" that i feel is a better car.
maybe the new 2013 vogue will have the RRS build quality feel ... time will tell Whistle

A couple of observations...

You are running in the Full Fat by buying new.
They are designed to have bits fall off so the next owners gets a good car at a good price. Wink
Saves development costs.

The Sport was updated in 2010 and is a better version than the old one. But the RRS was released in 2005, not 2001 like the Full Fat which is getting on a bit now. It's got a modern base, even if it's built for a lower budget customer.

The new Full Fat will be amazing. Smile
As will the next RRS, which'll come along a year or so later...

Well as someone who had an SSRR loaner while my FFRR was in for repair my experience was the opposite.

3 break downs and a blown engine later I got a d4 xs which worked without problem as always and felt solid. I never have issues with d4 loaners so far and the SSRR trim was shockingly put together last thing in a Friday Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

really surprised
my brother has had 3 rrs now
all new when purchased and has never had any problems with any of them
only went to the dealer for routine servicing and he put quite a few miles of spirited driving on them
me, i've had 2 vogues now
one ex demo 3.6 and a new 4.4tdv8 2011 and both the bloody things nearly live in the dealership Big Cry
maybe range rovers just don't like me but it ain't alf disheartning when you spend all that money Big Cry

I have a 2010 Sport for the lady and I must say, in terms of build quality and the solid feel and drive I'm very impressed.

We haven't had any problems with it.

Feels a lot more planted on the road, compared to the Vogue.

I still prefer the full fat though.

And possibly lower COG and the fact it weighs more and has fatter lower profile tyres..

To be honest any car has its lemons of the bunch but a pretty new at with only 6k miles on it should not rattle, fall apart, or munch its engine oil and engine...
I'm just glad it was a rental and I could throw it back to be someone else's problem. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Whilst I like the ffrr, whenever I go into the showroom, the car I come thinking is the nicest has been the rrs since its had the new interior. The l322 seems to have become a bit fussy inside and the rrs more cohesive. I genuinely like the original ffrr dash to the current one. V8 or else ...

I've always thought the opposite as i hate the high centre consoles in some cars and they only seem to be getting worse. My knee rubbed on it and not being soft it make its an unpleasant experience.

The D4 and FFRR don't suffer from this and the defender certainly does'nt Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I have a theory why SSRR's and Disco's are more reliable... Well an analogy...

During my 50 years I've owned quite a lot of animals. When we had a bit more land than now, and my oldest was small (she's 25 nearly now) we thought it would be nice for her to learn to ride. Something solid and not flighty was in order. We were given a beautiful Donkey Foal. Now, he's about 20 now, never had a days illness in his life, - plods on - happy, contented and always the first to come and say hello when I pop in to see him.

She moved on a bit, a bit bigger, a bit better at riding... A Riding School Pony. Good Solid, reliable but not very flash - a bit prone to needing her teeth filed occasionally, farrier needed more often, general running costs higher - but not impossible...

Then I got invited to become part of a syndicate buying a racehorse. Beautiful Mare - stunning in every way - fast as lightning, sleek, powerful... But... The bills.... It seemed every day something expensive was needed just to keep the damn thing alive....

Can you see where I'm going with this?
