The RRS never had BMW engines, that what I think is meant - i.e. the RRS was only ever fitted with the Jag engine

Erm...I believe the car I bought today (07 Supercharged FFRR) has the Jaguar 4.2 Supercharged lump (same as the XKR) in it. Think the person that wrote that is, not to put too fine a point on it, a numpty. Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Quite correct. And another one which confuses people is the 4.4 in the D3 V8 and the 4.4 in the early FFRR are completely different engines.

Worth noting the AJV8 (Jag Engine) and variants was used in all the post "Facelift" L322 other than the TD6 which remained the BMW lump until the AJV8 TDV8 came along in 2006. |

Leading on from Gaz's last comment, what are people's experiences of the post facelift (ie 2006MY on) N/A Jag 4.4 V8 in the L322 ? - NOT the supercharged car

As with the SC its good that it quiet at low revs and turns into a howling banshee when you put your foot down. |

I have an 07 plate and I have to say it is a very good engine, however if you can stump up for it I would go for the super charged if you can as the fuel economy is not much worse and the engine is very sweet coupled with the supercharger whine. that said there are some bargain 4.4 jag engined range rovers for sale at the moment. I thought I had 1 of the last but I saw a low mileage vogue 57 plate for sale recently for less than 20 grand! |
