I'm having second thought about the A8. Got a quote for warranty, £1,300 per year! range Rover and 7 series come in at £600 less! Is the A8 unreliable or just extremely expensive when it does go wrong? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

Not daft at all, I'm very tempted, though I'm quite tempted by your old car too, a 2007 535d, would you recommend?

If you think the XJ is good make time and find a 2.7litre TDV6 Citroen C6, very under rated and cheap cars once depreciation hits them.

5 series is good but there are loads about. The 535d was fast but the ride was harsh and it wasnt without its minor technical niggles, nothing terminal on mine, but like any complicated car there are horror stories.

I am thinking of changing from RR to Audi a6 3.0tdi quattro. I need the boot space of the estate otherwise the A8 or Phaeton are very nice.

I'm so glad you don't like the 300C, I hope I don't offend anyone but we just got rid of one, it was my fiancee's. We had nothing but trouble from a 57 plate car with only 40k miles. It was fully dealer serviced too.
