For all of you who saw my Bobtail on the Salisbury Plain trip, i thought i would post a couple of pics of the new paint...

It was looking very tired, the orange had badly faded and i wanted to modernise it as much as possible...

Is this a fiberglass kit you used or it it good ole steel and aluminium you cut and welded yourself?

Adriatic Blue with Parchment leather.

It's painted in Orkney Grey... I believe it's the 2012 Evoque and FF colour to replace Stornaway Grey...

It's based on a Discovery TD5 Auto, I bought it as a 7 seater truck 5 1/2yrs ago and imediately set about making it into a pickup for our house renovation and collecting firewood etc... It's all metal except the roof skin and rear window panel which was a GRP kit... The rear wings were hand made by me in aluminium and was the hardest part of the build to get looking right... The whole project took 5 months of my spare time...

What engine is it? Stuck with stock TD5 / remapped / transplanted a V8...? Graham

A very played with TD5, switchable for fast road (200ish hp) and normal use (165ish hp)... So, more than a 4.0V8 and good MPG as believe it or not it's now 3/4 of a tonne lighter (even with the monkey bars on the roof)
