i agree the 'wage' is OTT and rooney isnt the only footballer getting these amounts per week, MESSI and RONALDO get over £500k a week.

I don't care what others are on or what they command, everyone regardless of what they say would take the money every time. In Rooney's case he grew up in a bad area and now gets this amount of money doing what thousands of kids from Liverpool dream of doing for a living. Colleen works closely with staff where my wife works in a local children's hospital and she hasn't changed prior to her fame.

I hate football with a passion but good on those doing it as a job and getting paid for it.

Just personally think that it is an obscene amount of money for a sportsman, however i suppose when you look at it in the context of other sports such as f1 then it is roughly on par with a top driver if not slightly less, however when that is replicated across the entire premiership the amount of money spent on players wages is simply astronomical. Especially when most of t is funded by the clubs borrowing money to pay for them. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
