reason i ask is that you should take the key out when dis/reconnecting the battery which you did..keeping the key in might have causeed your problem.. |

When my alternator packed in both keys needed recoding, but other times when I have disconnected the battery (one occasion for more than 2 hours) I haven't needed to recode the keys - go figure

Not needed to change the battery in the remote, but I would imagine that this would not require a re-code as the key would still transmit on the same frequency?

I've changed many batteries in many car remotes and have never had to reprogram the fob.
