Just got a call from the dealers & the final bill for a water pump is £1,089.56p I couldn't believe it, the original quote was £560. All the extra money was for all the parts the fu monkey they let loose on it destroyed when removing the old one. This isn't a backstreet garage this was a main agent, even a competent home mechanic could have removed the water pump without all the damage. He even destroyed the pulley and the viscous fan & the top hose elbow.

The AA have offered me a 12 month warranty for £87 which covers any repair for up to £500, that should do until I can get rid of the thing. Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue
