If I hadn't read this post, if I hadn't drank a few glasses of wine, I would have left my metal dust caps alone, but NO I read the post got 3 off with pliers and broke one (but still got it off) new ones are on order - still metal - but will be applied with copper slip and hope that makes a difference Geoff |

I know this is an old thread but just an update one of the new metal ones stuck fast (got it off with molegrips) so now all the lot are plastic (about a quid on eBay) Geoff |

Last time I was in my local tyre fitting centre, I asked the guys if they had any spare tyre valve caps and the guy said help yourself. They had a tray on the tyre removing machine and they unscrewed the caps and threw them in as they change valves when fitting new tyres. I got a handful of black and also silver grey which BMW typically use.

I have locking ones to deter the 'tyre extinguishers' but fitted them with silicone grease on the threads and never had a problem removing them. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Spawn of the devil , having had to try (sometimes successfully and sometimes not on customers cars) I'd never use them on anything I own . |
