If it was previous to a 2006 vehicle where they changed the transmission/engines - it could well be the front diff? Land Rover Addict

I noticed a clunk over rough ground for the last few weeks, turned out to be my bottle jack bumping about in the spare wheel well after tyres changed! |

I solved mine by ensuring that the compliance bushing (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-L322...766wt_1139) bolt was loosened then tightened only when the wheel was on the ground and the suspension was at normal height. Often dealers during the front diff recall loosen and tighten the bolt when the vehicle is on a hoist, this caused the bushing to twist when the vehicle is lowered to normal height. This solved both my clunk and wobble (and associated tyre wear). Depending on the state of the bushing it may need to be replaced. Jack |

I had this problem, went to local independent yesterday they put it on ramp and it was obvious that the nearside ball joint was goosed, they even let me duck under and have a look, it rattled around just by jiggling the steering wheel - boy I wish I had one of those ramps.

Had this on my rear suspension - both sides and changed the top bush and the anti roll bar linkage. Turned out to be worn lower shock absorber mounting bolts ! Ordered 2 x from Dan and fitted - problem solved |
