Car is a 2006 4.2 V8 Supercharged with 130k miles, no LPG.

Developed a misfire on bank 1, GAP iid tool plugged in and codes below:
P0300 - random multiple misfire

+1 for 'Blue Grit'. Used it before and never had any issues with the new plaster blowing etc.

Much easier and faster than the other options in my opinion.

That height sensor does indeed sound suspicious, could well be part of your problem.
