I think it means if you're doing a lot of slow speed towing use low range.

I've towed a 3.5 ton trailer with my old TD6, and then with my 3.6 TDV8 and never used low range.

I've done that. Had a non BT version and when I needed it I couldn't find it. Bought a BT version to replace it.

Personally I'll never consider a BEV to be a viable or sustainable mode of transport - for me.
