| It's more the width. Smaller footprint gives higher specific pressure and better grip on slippery surface (in winter). |

Pirelli Scorpions 255/55-20 and quite happy with them.
I would not consider 21"/22" for winter driving over here, but probably fine for less wintery regions. |
