Hi folks, looking for supercharged owners help.

Been looking at some supercharged FullFats recently and was wondering if mileage was such a big deal on the used car if I was only planning on doing under 10k a year. (and probably only running it for 18mths)

Three examples I have seen include an 06 with 75k, two owners for £18K; 07 on 92K for £21K and another 06 one owner with full dealer Hx but with 97K for £17K. I think all are £460 tax as they are registered after 26th March 2006.

Money says go for the cheapest, and also nice being a one owner. But sometimes I think the 07 with the internal facelift and terrain response would be better.

They all look good but not sure the extra £4k is worth the internal extras.

....or I could stick with the Fiat Panda as it does have winter tyres on and cheap to run..(but boring)

Is this to add ANOTHER FFRR to your stable and replace the fiat?

Is the fiat the one that takes the milage use or the FFRR(current one)?

I'd say if you are keeping for such a short period of time residual should be the main worry after warranty/history so the cheapest would be best as its not as likely to lose as much over the term but does seem a bit steep priced for an SC...

If you only plan on keeping it for 18 months, maybe you should be thinking which one would be worth the most with an extra 15k or whatever miles you put on it! Previously..

Would make the lower mileage one the better then.

The other fullfat gets the miles put on it. The fiat is for local runs.

We have tried other 'brands' but always come back to the fullfat.

Are those prices a bit steep for a s/c? Similar prices for Disco3's HSE's of same age...

I think those prices are about right, S/C prices seem to have recovered after a period of weakness. Of course it's all down to condition really.

The 07 with the internal facelift would be more desirable, but that's a large premium £4k.

Seems like a strange plan to swap the Panda for an S/C when you have another FFRR, care to enlighten us?

ETA Just re-read your second post, but still confused, is the Panda/ S/C for local use? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

We chopped a 2010 RRS and Disco 3 for the fullfat during difficult times.

This winter I haven't really been enjoying the panda. So, yes, maybe a ridiculous thing to do but your only round this way once.

There is a 52 td6 HSE for £11k but it may loose more and if I get that I may also think that an extra £5K could sve got an sc.

Go for the S/C, probably see them all and just buy the one that feels right, you could always try some severe haggling on the 07!

So long as the file cost isn't an issue treat yourself to an S/C, after a Panda you deserve it!

Or travel a bit further and go higher mileage on the S/C, here's one in Bedford with 128k for £14k!

that one didnt even sell from what i can see so i would say for SC's at the bottom of the price range its a buyers market mainly as most will go for a TDV8 or TD6 instead for the economy and such stuff...

It may be a Cat B but it can be put back on the road and i doubt it can lose anymore money that it currently has. Reckon on another £1-2k to get back on the road if for example the air pump has blown and what have you but its a car that could be run into the ground for a good 18months and doubt it would lose that much due to its currently value.

From what i've read online as well the marker is possibly able to be removed as well as long as you are fully confident the car is roadworthy and in as good as can be without a re-shell safe... worth a thought maybe??

I'd say it would be fine as long as you check it over well.

i'd always try and buy a one owner car and if possible from a lady owner, espeically a less well 'rounded' one as it leads to less wear on the drivers seat (lots of FFRR suffer this), even after only a few years you can see if a chunka has been driving as the drivers seats get upwards sags from the leather stretching over time and no regular cleaning/nourishing. Also they tend to be driven more gentle and maybe have the odd parking scrape but tend to be much lighter ones and bodywork like scrapes is usually cheaper than drivetrain repairs from gents working them a bit harder over time, specially with the long service intervals.
Always budget for a service as soon as it lands on your drive anyway to be on the safe side and check the state of oil as well. maybe even think about a gearbox flush and filter at these milages as well.

I've never bought into the idea that a 'one lady owner' car is a better bet, I know women drivers who don't take care of their car, driving style is foot down everywhere, bouncing up kerbs, kerbing wheels, parking scuffs etc. Generalisation I know I always think if it's a decent car, (FFRR and the likes) A mature bloke would have taken a lot more care of the car.

...but no mention of owners ass size! But, again it is a hefty trip to go see it and realise it is a dog. And cat B RRS for a grand or two less than an original fullfat doesn't fill me with want.

Being from the frozen north (beyond Inverness) we are limited in stock this time of year.

There are a few knocking about in official dealers but they are wanting £25K+.

Two of the ones I have been following have already been reduced by £2K (23-21 and 20-1 so not sure how much more movement there would be. I would probably want them to take the panda off me to sweeting the deal as well.

I never trust the 'it's a buyers market' but maybe because I am pish at negotiating.
