Lost all sound on the car ie radio, sat nav and telephone, no DSP on display.
Done a search and read all the posts, very helpful.
Having had a poke about in the back I could well be suffering the obligatory water ingress from high up in the rear passenger side compartment.
I want to remove the amplifier to check for water damage, have undone the two top fixing bolts but don't seem to be able to slide the amp up and out.
Can't see or feel any other fixing bolts but there could be one somewhere.
Can anybody help, is there a "way" of getting the amp out?

Undo the two 8mm bolts at the top and it should just slide up and out... Check the big black plug on the top, that's the normal one that suffers with water...

Got the two bolts out ok but pull as I might I can't get it to slide up.
I'll have another go tomorrow. As you say the large plug has three corroded pins, just wanted a look inside to check for water damage.

Not sure what year yours is but mine is a 2005 and a nicedayforit is ceratinly what you will need. I just changed my TV Tuner and the amp is on the same plate, and it is actually bolted in from behind with four star bolts which you can not get to, it was a bitch of a job but the following might help whihc was one of the guys put on a post for me. if you go to the lnk it has step by step guide of what needs to come out to get that out and its a few bolts etc. Took me about two hours from start to finish

Here are the instructions I was kindly given

Be patient!

1. Take out the spare cover from the boot
2. Take out the plastic AV floor cover on the LHS this will give you better access to the all the AV equipment
3. Remove the key from the ignition and wait for 2 mins.
4. Prepare to remove everything, you HAVE to take the whole thing out to get at the mounting bolts.
5. Remove the mounting bolts as discussed here: http://files.me.com/stevegt/rql3cm (this was a life saver).
6. You'll be able to disconnect some of the modules and remove. Put them to one side somewhere safe.
7. Lift the frame out and everything still attached in one go. To do this you'll have to unplug it all. Don;t be afraid at this point it will all go back together (as long as you get the plugs in the right places.

Then you can change the tuner and put it all back.

Once I realised I had to take the whole thing out and got on with it took minutes.

FYI. You'll need a good socket set and a various star bits for your driver.

Before you get stuck in, worth checking the Radio fuse (no 8, a 5amp, at the front on my '02). I blew mine by accident and it knocked out all sound and the radio itself! .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Definitely not the radio fuse, radio is working, just no sound.
@Renegade2, your instructions are spot on to remove the DSP amp, although you can undo the two top bolts holding the amp to the mounting frame, there are two more bolts at the bottom pointing outwards which means it is physically impossible to undo them to release the amp from the mounting plate.
The mounting plate has to come out with all the bits attached.
Not difficult in itself, just fiddly and time consuming.
Needless to say when the amp goes back in the two lower bolts won't be going back in.
I can only assume any DSP amps that can just slide up and out without resorting to removal of the mounting frame have been out in the past for whatever reason.

Lol.. Just came in to do a search as I am having the same problem myself.. Its Stuck on the land rover sign on the display, red light flashing off/on. Found water on the top Nokia module, so I assume there is water on other components.
Just about to strip it down to check.... Why so many bloody bolts.. Aaarrrrrrgghhhh. Previously..

Just taken out the frame with Nokia, dvdrom and DVD changer, cheers renegade2 for link. Connectors are all looking fine and clean. I picked up the unit to put it back in and noticed a small puddle. Full of bloody water.
Got the units in the house in front of a dehumidifier to hopefully remove all the water. I'll leave it a day. Hopefully there is no lasting damage.... Previously..

Mine has lost all sound this morning (!!!!??) - was fine last night - had the radio and CD on - get in this morning - nothing......all working fine on the screen, cd counter going up so its playing.....just no sound....almost like someone has flicked the mute button!

We had a bit of rain last night but not ver much....is it likely to be same issues as above of could there be another solution?

**updated** -- got back in after work....all is fine, volume is restored....must have been a glitch as no water ingress anywhere to be seen.

Try taking each of the plug connectors off the amplifier and spraying the plugs and sockets with a liberal dose of electrical contact cleaner.
Also look for an aftermarket sound switcher box and do the same with the plugs and sockets on that.
Worked for me.
My problem seems to have mostly cleared, got the radio, cassette and cd player sound back and DSP indication on the screen. Still a problem with no sound on phone although it is working. Not tried sat nav yet.
Seems to have been corrosion on the various connectors, particularly the large power etc plug on the amplifier, due to water ingress.

Spoke too soon, sound has gone off again
Could have found the problem though, broken off pin in the front small socket on the top of the DSP amp due to corrosion, no doubt caused by water ingress.
Anybody happen to know anyone with the expertise to replace this socket, bit beyond my ability.
Or any work round solution.

Niceday, can you post a picture of your amp. I may have a replacement. Need to see what connections you have. I had 3 broken pins caused by corrosion and had to replace the amp. Took it all apart first to try adn fix but the connector units are not able to be removed AFAIK. in any case would involve a new pin and re-solder with very little space to work in.

The amp is a Lear unit with the part number XQK000030 on it.

I had this a while back and all I needed to do was a hard reset but disconnecting battery touching leads together and putting back together. He Presto sound restored......(Common fault)

Worth a try before effing about in the back there

Unfortunately there is a pin broken off in the socket on the amp which happens to be a used, it seems to serve a communication link cable. All the bits are working ok just no sound, if I wiggle the plug I get noise from the speakers.
Bl...dy expensive pin.
