Sometimes the stereo/radio on our 2011 4,4 tdv8 seems to get in a bit of a state. Almost like the computer has 'crashed'.

Wife said this morning she noticed the reversing camera stayed on for ages. She selected 'home screen' to remove it and now claims to not be able to get the radio/stereo.

She said the on/off switch doesn't do anything and the light on it just flashes.

I won't be able to have a look at it until I get home this evening. But any ideas?

Sounds like a software problem, possibly requiring an upgrade

I've had this once before, I parked up, switched off and back on again and it was all clear, it's not happened again since so hopefully not a reocurring problem. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

when wife 1.0 got to work's carpark - she turned car off, waited a few mins, re-started and it's fine now.

(Car was in for 1st service a couple of weeks back, so I think is on the latest software versions).

i'll update if it happens again.

...... Just had my software upgraded because of this; audio system would lock especially after using the phone, satnav would get lost and suddenly I'd be on A roads rather than the M25!

Dealer says they 'know' of the problem - but are waiting for affected customers to get in touch.

It definitely happened previously - i.e. locking. And I 'fixed' by re-starting the vehicle and removing and re-inserting all the CDs.

i've never seen the reversing camera stick on though. I.e. the wife saw that behaviour this morning.

But I'm wondering if we're seeing it more often since we started to plug our iPods in a bit more. dunno.
