NEW TDV6 Superb

The weekend i had my brother up from down south for a visit and of course he had to bring his brand new RR Sport TDV6 for me to oggle over!

Having owned a TDV6 and a TDV8 (both chipped) i have to say that the new TDV6 30L is miles ahead of both of the old engines! Even though it had only done 500 miles and was still being run in i could feel a huge difference, it was sooooooo smoth, very very quiet and was much much more responsive than the old engines.

jumping back in to my TD6 was like getting in to a tractor in comparison Crying or Very sad

The white one is the new TDV6 Whistle

The TD6 is a little lumpy by todays standards.

At least the FFRR works though as whenever I go on the RRS forum people still seem to be having murder with these vehilces!

I also love the TDV6 3.0 btw - its much better than the 2.7 Thumbs Up '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs

Searching for a nice E63 AMG or S8 V10 to replace my "wonky" TDV8

The TD6 is not the most refined diesel in its class, we all know this but, I have to say that once you are used to it, it's a great workhouse and once tweaked even better.

There's something 'real' about the TD6 and for those of us that moved through the Range Rover ranks over the years and knew what diesels came before it (The original VM Diesel, the 2.5 TDi, the BMW 2.5TD and then the TD6 itself) it was like a revelation in noise levels, power and economy.

Sure the TDV8 is a whole new ball game, as it should be. No one with a TD6 should feel ashamed or annoyed, it's an excellent and IMO reliable motor. Discovery 4 HSE
