Buying advice please: Pre or post facelift?

Hi everyone,

Am getting back into a FFRR but want some advice. I sold my 04 Vogue nearly a year ago & miss it massively!

My budget is c. £15k - more for an exceptional one but ideally less Thumbs Up

That kind of puts me at the bottom end of a TD6 Facelift on a 05 plate or I could get a 54 plate pre-facelift but with the touch screen nav for about £3k less.

What do I do? Head says go for the pre-facelift & save the cash - even do a DIY facelift later on. My heart says I will always have that niggle in me saying "It's not a facelift Big Cry "

What about resale value?

Any other pros or cons? I have seen 3 x pre facelift 54 plate touchscreen for around the £12k mark so do I save the £3k or go for a genuine facelift?

Decisions, decisions... Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I would go and get a pre-facelift thats been well cared for. If the look of it really bothers you, get the facelift done for little cost.

I know but I can't get that "niggle" out of my head!

The same sort of thing that would bug me had I bought a Boxster instead of a 911!

I think Jeremy Clarkson even calls it the Porsche Boxster syndrome!

I'll just go & have a look at the post-facelift first & then decide depending on how flexible the man is on price Whistle Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

you can usually get a lot more (low mileage) pre facelift for your money sub £15K than you can post facelift ...at least thats what I found about 18 months ago when buying

there was quite a premium on a post 05 car with same miles/condition

in the end I decided Id sooner have a better condition older car and havnt looked back since....I do about 25K miles a year though, so another year or so and will move up to a post facelift then Smile cheers
