Can you not use the factory aerial? Saves sticking a new one to the glass, u'll just need an adapter...

Dont the factory aerial get its power from the tv tuner,
Therfore taking off the aerial and fitting it to my aftermarket freeview
I would have thought would not work as no power to aerial.

Im sure i read this somewhere on a forum may have
Misunderstood.

I used a 25db one on mine and for me it works fine. i get the occasional glitch but no more then I did with the analogue TV. I tried the 128db one but the signal got worse so I went back to the 25db.

You can also get two, and split it so you have one each side.

Hope that helps. Reformed

!

hello mate,
yeah thats what i was thinking using two then split it, but wasnt sure about the db gain side of things.
im still thinking whether i can use the factory aerial on the MOSt system.

im glade you said that the 25db works better as its much cheaper then the 128db.. Thumbs Up Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen

Am about to test one of these out:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200646291559

It's got a powered booster and its 12v as well so easy connecting up to a car. if you can hang on a few days I can report back on how well it works...... .

I'm watching this with anticipation. I got one of these http://www.eonon.com/Others/Others/V0012.html to try and get away from having to watch the same dvd with my son every journey. When the cars stationary the signal is pretty good but on the move it's fair to say Censored . If these aeriels work then it might save me a lot of ear ache from the mrs as to why the TV in the car is so crap! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Mine is not to bad on the move. It does get the occasional glitch but definately no more than the old analogue TV did. I only use a single amplified 25db on the same side as the entertainment compartment in the rear.

After playing around with different bits of kit and positions I found thats worked for me. Reformed

A bit nippy outside this evening, but just tested out the aerial:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200646291559
with car sat in the driveway.

I stuck it to the side window in the boot, switched to position one to give the booster power and fired up the tv application. reception was as good as I get inside the house on my main PC using the same USB DVB stick but with an aerial in the roof and a mains powered booster.

If I can get one of my "monkeys" to sit in the boot while I drive around the village, I can report back on "on the move". I guess the only real problem will be moving from one transmitter to the other, but we would have this with analog tv anyway.

So a thumbs up for http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200646291559 at present.... .

Looking at the pictures they are not the standard crappy aerials, yours are amplified 80db.

I like the fact that your box has dual outputs which saves splitting. Reformed

The box is great I think I might be expecting to much from it though. Will just download a few films onto a pen drive and use that when the signal drops. Out of interest what is the Db thingy and if I got a 120Db aerial would it be better? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

I thought that a stronger aerial would be better which is why I tried the 128db type but after having a play I found that wasnt the case. Thats why I ended up going back to the 25db one. The 128db one was even crappy when I was stationary.

It may also depend on the signal in your area but for me, the 25db was the one that worked.

I dont think you will ever get a great signal all the time. I know the analogue one didnt. Reformed
