Lookers Family Day

I guess this is strictly speaking Off Topic, rather than dealer feedback, however great thanks to Lookers Park Royal for a fantastic day of Off Roading, and Clay shooting at Churchills shooting school.

We were looked after very well, the shooting instruction was so fantastic I'm considering a change of career as a sharp shooter!

Only downer was the punctures on the Sport and Disco meaning that we had to be driven by instructors rather than driving ourselves on the off road course, but not LPR's fault!

All in all a fantastic day!

As above Thumbs Up - yet another great day at EJ Churchills organised by Lookers - Very popular event with some expert shooting tuition and plenty of activities and hot chocolate to keep the young ones entertained - bit of a shame about the flat tyres - even after the instructors took over the driving around off road course - it still didn't prevent the punctures from occuring unfortunately Rolling Eyes

Shame I didnt manage to bump into you bozmandb9 - if only to say hello to another forum member

Another big thank you from a guaranteed future customer to James, Jez, Sarah and the rest of the team @ Lookers (and staff at EJ Churchills of course) for making my son and I very welcome Bow down

Yes, shame we didn't meet, unless we did of course? What age is your son? I was shooting with a father and son, my son was Tommy aged six.

Otherwise next time we'll have to arrange how to identify each other! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Embarassed No - really???

My son, Riley ( 8 ) and I were indeed joined by another father and young son
(who I must say looked very handsome in his shooting tweeds Cool )

We were shooting with instructor Mike (poor gentleman who had to kneel down to instruct our sons) - if it was you who asked me to take some photos on your behalf - well i'll be damned!

Rolling Eyes Without realising - It was a pleasure to meet you bozmandb9 - hope the photos were ok?

That is so funny! Well it was great to meet you!

Mike did a great job didn't he. First time for Tommy, and he really enjoyed it, though he did seem as keen on picking up and playing with the clays as he was on the shooting!

The photo's were great thanks, hope you got some good ones of Riley.

Next time we'll have to be better organised, as you say some FullFatRR.com merchandise to identify ourselves! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Tommy did great for a first timer - don't think the twin trigger helped our boys, and as Mike explained...

...being a smaller gauge shotgun, it would have been much harder to hit the clay compared to the over/under cannon we were on. The main thing being they both hit some Thumbs Up (albeit with some assistance)

Likewise, we also have some spent cartridges and clays for show and tell at school - little things etc.Wink

All the best to you and Tommy

Yet another father @ son team who were looked after by Lookers today Thumbs Up Just that my little Sam is 20 Laughing & now wants to take up shooting!

Shame about the tyres puncturing on the Sport & Disco & even worse that the locking wheel nut wouldn't undo on the Sport.

Thanks for the comments, and glad you had fun. Delamo, I think you are right that we need some way of identifying forum members at theses sort of events........ perhaps a red carnation?

We too were a little dissapointed by the punctures on the two Experience vehicles. There must have been a rogue flint somewhere along the track. I'm not sure if you noticed but Jeremy and I took a mad dash back to the dealership to pick up our two Defender 110 demo's which naturally have more ply to the side walls. Fortunately this helped, however I think the experience team were worried about having to replace our Defender tyres, hence taking the wheel and giving demo's. Embarassed The owner of the LRE centre we used explained that the RRS was a year old and was being replaced this Wednesday, therefore I guess that the locking key had been used a few too many times!! Shocked

We had a similar issue when Jeremy and I did a recce for our Evoque launch at West Wycombe House (couple of miles from EJC), when we speared a RRS tyre on the first circuit. It must be very flinty around that area as we've not had the issue elsewhere.

We will be sending an email to everyone on the guest list who attended, offering an LRE Off Road Experience voucher, as an apology for 'flint-gate'!!

Thanks again,

James Thumbs Up

Wow, you guys are too much! We still had a fantastic day with the shooting, and decorating christmas balls and gingerbread men! There's really no need for the LRE offer, however it will be gladly accepted!

Maybe for the LRE day we can try to co-ordinate and meet up with fellow forum members (wearing our red carnations or whatever!) Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Boz/XJ,

I can very easily arrange this for the future. All we would need is a reasonable number (15 or so participants) and ideally mid-week (as they are usually very busy on Saturday's with individual guests (as opposed to groups).

If you would like to put a 'feeler' out for numbers then I'm happy to coordinate and come along.

Could be combined with a discounted rate here as it is in the grounds of 'the house':

I did not get a chance to attend, but would look forward to an event at the Luton Hoo.
They had a Range Rover event there a while back, fantastic day of shooting, great food and great driving!
