Assuming your car is the same as the earlier ones in terms of how the thing is mounted, I doubt that is your problem. The reason being that the bolts do not protrude into the boot. They are bolted directly into the chassis where there is a captive nut. |

Sorry didn't take pictures when I installed my Tow bar but from memory the 06 onwards has long captive bolts which protrude through the bodywork into the boot where the nylock nuts are attached. |

Thanks Justin - that has helped me, I'm thinking that's where the water is getting in, now deciding whether just to buy an armature, strip the bumper off and seal / fit the armature and be done with it - was going to get one next year anyway for carrying a couple of bikes......
