Does anyone have any pictures of the rear of the car with the bumper mounting removed - i.e. the areas where the towbar armature would bolt onto ?

I am trying to determine if these mounting areas are the source of my water ingress to the boot.

I know that when you buy the armature you get two gaskets to go between the armature and the body but was wondering what size of hole is in the body or if its just the bolt holes ?

Any pictures would help !

Assuming your car is the same as the earlier ones in terms of how the thing is mounted, I doubt that is your problem. The reason being that the bolts do not protrude into the boot. They are bolted directly into the chassis where there is a captive nut.

Sorry didn't take pictures when I installed my Tow bar but from memory the 06 onwards has long captive bolts which protrude through the bodywork into the boot where the nylock nuts are attached.

Thanks Justin - that has helped me, I'm thinking that's where the water is getting in, now deciding whether just to buy an armature, strip the bumper off and seal / fit the armature and be done with it - was going to get one next year anyway for carrying a couple of bikes...... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....
