A Strange Request

Chaps,

Wondering if any one could help, as you can see by previous post's I am not in UK but in Sudan and am about to move to Zambia, fingers crossed with my V8 L322 RR. The thing is for me to import my vehicle I have to supply a roadworthy certificate or a Letter stating that the car is roadworthy. Obviously here in Sudan there is no such thing as an M.O.T station and I am not asking for a blank one, what I am after is a template letter of what should be on such a doc from a Mechanic or Garage as then I can get the British Embassy here to sign and stamp it so I can get the import permit. Grateful for any input or ideas ..

Smile

As a lot of mots in the uk are now printed on plain white A4 paper all you need is a copy of someones plain white mot certificate then you could just copy and modify accordingly and then print your own. Smile
Mine isn't the plain white paper version, probably will be next time but that is not until late next year.

I did a google image search on MOT certificate and came up with that. The OP wanted a template.

Many thanks for the comments

I had already tried to scan my old mot but it looks crap when i photo shop the date out. I think I'll have to draft a letter from a mechanic ( cough cough) here and see if that will be OK.
The car is being freighted over there so docs have to be ok'd before it can be put in the container.

Just wondering what should be put on the letter ? other than typical vehicle details / I guess it should just be I certify that this vehicle is road worthy ?

Whistle

I would say "loosely" follow the MOT inspection list in your letter in bullet point form :

- Brake system : fully functional
- Exhaust system : no leaks
- Tires : in good condition
- Fuel system : in good condition
etc.

Then let your mechanic sign it and try to get a stamp from his garage. Stamps do well with any official Smile

I had a very good friend who traveled Africa for many years (and sadly died due to lack of proper medical care in THE NETHERLANDS) and he was very good at acquiring official documents and he always told me, get plenty of stamps on it. the more the better Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
