Bought as my first car in 2001, got a bit too attached to it, so kept it, had it restored then set about totally changing it. Thumbs Up

What engine are you putting in it? 2006 Mercedes CLS

If that's aimed at me, then very close to the court yeah, it's a little further along, right in front of the millenium bridge just next to Mal Maison. 2006 Mercedes CLS

If your going 2litre why not go vtech instead or is it just too cramped in there after that.

Guess they must be dam quick as i had a go in a 1.5 engined mini many many years ago and it was scarey, even compared to a well tweaked R5 GTT Laughing Shocked

This project is temporarily on hold due to lack of time (working at least 6 days a week) and space (no proper workshop where i live). It is to be a reverse trike with a 200 bhp Kawasaki ZX14 (ZZR1400) engine in it. The design is inspired by the Campagna T-rex (have a look on YouTube : Trex Fifth Gear, to see Tiff Needell have fun with it Smile).

The pictures don't do the actual work done justice, 95% of the parts are received, the base frame is complete. Still there is a lot of work still to be done. Note, the steering rack is Mini Smile

Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Even better would be a 2lt 16v Turbo Vauxhall Engine.

And why not upgrade the body to make it more rigid and with good brakes and suspension.

And put the engine in the middle.

Say like a VX220.

And then why not up the turbo to, oh I don't know, 500bhp?

Like this car.

(no it's not my car).

Yea it will be the vauxhall engine run on carbs. Picked this over a vtec as they are cheap and tuneable it's a cheap toy to keep me busy and off two wheels.

That's a lovely looking mini. Taken you long to get to that stage?

Baz

There's a lot less work to fir the Vaux. 2.0l than a VTEC, on a round nose Mini, you ideally have to extend the front by 4" to get everything to fit properly with a VTEC conversion, I believe that the 2.0l pretty much fits under the standard front if it's an 8v, I think a 16v needs the inner wing slightly notched out on the drivers side.

As for mine, it's taken roughly about 5 years from when I started the rebuild. There's a full build thread on The Mini Forum if you're registered on there...

Cool stuff will give it a read when I'm next offshore. Yea I was going to fit a clubman front end. But decided to stay round nose. I have a carbon fiber front extended 90mm which will be removable. It's also a fiberglass roof fitted and boot floor. Is on the 16v mini forum with a more detailed spec. Hopefully have it finished for summer.
