One of the largest dealerships in Scotland (not LR) has just paid off 400 staff, apparentlt car sales are at an all time low and the future is not looking good

Not A.C. but as it's not yet public knowledge I won't post the name until I hear the word is out. My mate was sent home on 'garden leave' last Thursday and told he will be paid until mid December and not to return.....

I wouldn't have thought you would have any worries with Taggarts, but in todays economic climate anything can happen.......Caveat emptor Whistle

I guess it's worth a punt just for the service (which is just about due), and the MOT, which is due just before Xmas. So if I pay the £350 odd quid I get the service and the MOT, then if they go t1ts up soon after, I don't think I would lose much? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

As others have said they are generally the smaller dealers with 3 or less places but ex dealer kit is popping up on the bay all the time so be wary.
I'd put the money in a savings account and use an Indy to be honest as much better ROi than a dealer stamp!

My local Stratstone price matched our local Indy when I asked them.. I would never tie myself in for a four year fixed price deal. Last full service was about £250. Previously..

I got the same servicing offer from Lookers, it's not my sort of thing so it went straight in the bin.

I am with Contraband, I always ask one of our local indpendents for a price and then tell Lookers, they always seem to be more than happy to match it, it does bug me a bit that the main dealers cant offer a good price in the first place so last time i went back to the indy and let them do it. 12MY Black FF VSE

You guys must be better at negotiating than me!

Any time I ask main stealers to match indies they just laugh! The most I managed was 5% off the labour from Morrissons in Stirling. Sheilds (not that I would use them) just said they don't price match, or discount, and Taggarts have come up with this offer, so maybe it's time to sharpen my skills and try again! Another thing is are you happy with the service they give. May be now but what about the future. If they stuff something up & you have to get your RR serviced elsewhere. Just something else to think about

Dealers simply do not give anything away so they MUST be gaining by the arrangement. My guess is that cash is tight and they need the advanced funding.....

I would avoid but that because I use Indy's on anything over 3 years old..
