2011 front headlight LED problem/not working

Hi All,

I have just realized my two front indicators are not working. I have a 2011 conversion done, everything was perfect.

The back work fine, the side repeaters are fine, the front makes a tick tock noise as normal at the same speed as it used to but not showing the actual lights flashings.

I have a silly question, how do i change them Embarassed , I tried to search for pics of where the indicator bulbs would be and look near the headlight, no indication at all.

I assume as all the other lights work, it still makes the noise even when i go under the bonnet that its actually the bulbs. id really appriciate the help. Sad

2011 has LEDs - I'm fairly sure you can't change them & shouldn't need to - its far more likely to be a bad connection.

I would contact whoever did the conversion for you

hi mate, tbh i thought that was the case but i stupidy went to a bulb website and it showed an actual bulb for a 2011 headlight.

funnily enough recently i had it at the mechanics to change the 2 belts and he done a great job with that but i have a funnily feeling it might have caused a lose connection and i have no idea about electrics.

I bought the RR with the conversion done already. it's the tidiest conversion ive seen and its been perfect. shame, now i need to go digging around to see whats lose. any ideas ?

Racking my braind (to no avail) on this one - it does seem odd that both front indicators have gone - I wouldn't have thought they have any common cabling and havig a dodgy connection on both at the same time seems unlikely......

yeah my thoughts exactly, seems very very odd and i am trying to think of a common wire/cable/issue that would cause both to go off. its very odd as i check ALL THE lights, front/back fogs, hazzard, individual indicating, dip beams etc, i tried them all individual and in combonations to see if it was maybe causing conflicts etc and hoping they would come on one way or another but no joy.

i do find it odd that it even makes the tick tock noise as normal, i went into the bonnet and there seems to be two wee black boxes; one each side which i have no idea what they are, resistors? relays? where it sounds and feels like the tick tock noise is coming from. so it looks and sounds like its all working but just no actual flashing. like everyone has said its very very veryyyyyyyy unlikley the LEDS are actually faulty, so must be a wire or connection of some sort.

right guys, i went out and took some pictures because it was really annoying me.

I seemed to have found two new connections, HOWEVER i assume these are old connections no longer required due to the conversion however i might be wrong, as i said before my mechanic was in there to change the two belts but he is quite far away and i just dont have time to go back to him, hes usually fantastic so i beleive this might have been just a slip up or some sort but i just want to fix it.

connection found on right

this was the black box i was talking about which is making the noise and still does, even when i unlock the car i can hear it tick tock twice as it has always done and once when locking the car but no flashes

my headlights are these ones if it helps

you will find the other indicators working due to the resistors in the front, they will act as they are still working, again its strange that both have gone, i would be inclined to check the head light first as these led's cant be changed, not read any faults like yours on the conversion, so check your headlights and if they are working then you can start checking connections.

Hi Daveo,

I have check the headlights, everything works perfect, the xenons, main beam etc leds etc all perfect. just the indicators, very very odd, the only other thing i can think of that i have changed on the car recently is i changed the back regi plate lights to LED's i dont know if this would have a connection. might try put the old bulbs back in to check....

oh and thanks Smile

PS. just quickly put old bulbs back in back, no avail Big Cry

you would have to take the headlight out.. to be honest i dont think your prob is there but i would check any way..i would say the LCM... have you had any programming done on it, 2nd have you disconnected your battery at all. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

edit.....please dont use the quote button to reply ... ops sorry Embarassed

Hmmm I would honestly be gob smacked if the actual headlamps where faulty.

Crying or Very sad yeah i disconnected the battery many many times as i had a notorious eas fault and then ordered a new battery, and fitted that in, I honestly dont even remember if the LED's where working after that. how would disconnecting the battery stop them from working though? (Sorry for the questions, just to build up my knowledge too)

no programming done at all, just been using the RSW ALL comms tool but only to reset eas, i did not touch anything else

I have a RSW ALL comms tool, is there anyway I could use that to check. To be honest if I knew someone good around where i live to have a look and fix the problem i would just give its just not worth my time but i dont have anyone trustworthy up here to work on my car.
