Having bought a new VSE 4.4 TDV8 in May, I'm with Rolo all the way on his thinking.

Just one important thing, as other have said: Don't do the facelift!

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

I’d like to thank all those that responded with your opinions. I am surprised to hear that most prefer to keep my early L322 in original format. I was slightly tempted in changing all Range Rover badges to the new silver ones - what are your opinions on this? Keep them Grey or change them to the 2010 Silver ones?

Also, looking through the autobiography brochure from 2003/4 it shows the side vents painted – so my second question is, what do you think looks better; Grey or Body coloured (Blue)?

Finally, in relation to getting one of the last L322 or L405 – I think I may hold out for the new model. 600kg in weight saving, together with the aim of Bentley build quality are too tempting. However, I will not be putting any money down just yet as I want to gauge the amount of problems a new model inevitably brings; as suggested earlier in this topic.

Thanks all,

I have colour coded gills, as well as the front air intake top of bonnet, and door handle covers. In my opinion it gives a great improvement over the standard appearance.

The gills and air intake were coded when I bought the car, I believe it was done by Land Rover as an option. The door handle covers were bought due to the poor standard finish having worn badly on the door handles. A low cost and worthwhile improvement.

If you want the S/C facelift then go for it! I'm sure Cam-Tech Craig would do a great job for you. My point is just that for the cost of facelifting, plus the value of your car, why not just upgrade to a 2006 Supercharged? If you love the 4.4, you'll go mad for the S/C, it's just better in every area (fantastic as the 4.4 already is). Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Scarey, it does, doesn't it?

Quite a nice Java Black Supercharged in the classifieds! Though would have loved to have a splash of wood rather than the Piano Black trim. All IMO of course. Why were Land Rover so reserved with the amount of wood around the interior of the Range Rover?

I would like to see an interior with as much wood and leather as a Bentley Brooklands. Even looking at the Land Rover website for AUC, most of the cars now are equipped with no wood! Is wood not the desired choice anymore?

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Piano Black is technically 'wood.' Wood isn't as desirable now - most new Range Rovers are ordered with Black exteriors and some wood wouldn't go very well with these. Autobiography wood is also something like a £1900 option now too, whereas piano black around £300-400. The standard woods don't look too real in my opinion.

I don't really like the look of 'wood' in cars I buy - I've had piano black for quite a few now. But then I'm boring...my car is Santorini/Jet/Jet/Jet/Privacy. Some would say it's dark inside, but I'd say it's classy!!
