Gents,

Before i go home and get stuck into taking out the N/S front arch liner, does anyone have any photo's (or a bloody good memory) as to where the sunroof drain hose appears?

I've tracked it all the way down from the roof, under the car ontop of the air compressor tank, and into the wheel arch from under the car.

Any help is much appreciated!

Never had to look for them but this is whats written in the Workshop Manual.

"Drain hoses are connected to the front and rear corners of the frame. The drain hoses are located inside the 'A' and 'D' post pillars to allow water which has collected in the frame to escape. A one-way valve is fitted to the end of each
drain hose to prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture."

Whether it helps you or not I don't know.

Just remembered.
I fitted front mudflaps to my car recently which involved releasing the rear of the wheel arch liner to fit the mounting brackets, I don't remember seeing any drain pipes in behind and I did paint out the metalwork behind the arch liner with grease. I'm sure I would have noticed them.
On my Disco previously the sunroof drain pipes also dropped down inside the A
post and actually stopped short of the bottom of the A post and drained down inside the post. There was a drain hole in the bottom of the post to let the water out.

Well done young sir. 100% right, nowhere near the front arch contrary to everything I've read over the last few months.

All sorted and water flowing freely through the drains

Did you see my other post where Cam Tech Craig mentioned about the air compressor tank nipping the grommet ? Well he was spot on!

I started off by taking the arch liner out, side grill off, bottom fender off, inside A pillar off, inside kick panel out over about 2 hours. Then I had a bright idea that if I pour water down the drain tube that works and see where it exits, logic dicates that the blocked tube should empty the opposite side. Back under the car at the near side, when looking up, I could see quite clearly (when you know where to look ) that the compressor tank had indeed caught the grommet and push it up, crimping in between the frame and the tank.

From that point on, maybe 15/20 mins total. Loosen off both 10mm bolts holding the tank up (hint: don't lie directly underneath! You will, like I did, get very wet ) and manoeuvre the grommet back into the frame securing it tightly back in place. Test with numerous jugs of water, flows like a river!

Jump up and down with joy for 5/10 mins. Then spend an hour putting back all the parts you never needed to remove in the first place!

I can take a photo of the grommet location if it will help anyone.

yeh, the drain tube comes down the B pillar (not the A pillar as i've read everywhere) and down into the frame between the front and rear doors. The grommet is the attached to the end of the tube.

What happened in my case was the grommet somehow got caught by the air cylinder and lifted up out of position and held tight against the framework. Basically blocking the tube completely from the grommet upwards. After very heavy rain when moving the car and turning a hard right the build up of water in the drain tube would rise to the top of the sunroof and trickle down into the cabin. Not good!
