I used to drive a D3 through work and it had an electronic parking brake. That's how LR experience centre taught me to drive it!

I was told by my dealer the opposite. Never never do this as it causes a strain and after a while, it knackers it. Simply press down on the parking brake before you go. Was also told this by LRE.

I've just read my manual that states the ability to drive away with the EPB on an it will release. I was also told by the dealer that this is OK too. Personally I press the EPB button off before just in case...it can make a bit of a clunk and just not worth the risk.

Had a hire car (a crappy Renault Scenic) this weekend when visiting the daughter in Scotland. It had an EPB which proved far superior to the one in my Rangie. As the car was manual and the EPB was a bit difficult to judge, hill starts were a bit difficult. Therefore, I started to leave the EPB on and just go. No clonk - just a smooth departure.

Can't help with the current problem, BUT when I did my LRE day we were shown that Upton 70mph if you pull the EPB the car will do the fastest and shortest emergency stop! Nice little trick. Not sure if this is in any manuals. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
