Sorry for the silly question but I can't seem to find the tyre size for the std 19" Vogue wheels.

Is there a recommended brand/type?

255/55/19 I believe
Land Rover seem to sling Pirellis or Contis on em from new, but tbh any half decent brand would do. If I were buying some 19s I be tempted to go with the general grabber ATs  FFRR TD6 HSE

I have cheap tyres on mine Accelera Iotas about £100 a corner initially I was a bit sceptical but i cannot fault them good grip and are wearing very well and low road noise

I put Kuhmo on 2 years ago for £75 per corner. did mne for c 15kmiles. they were 18".

Never had any of the new ATs so can't comment on road noise. I would imagine theyd be alittle more noisy than full on road tyres but would be ideal going in winter. FFRR TD6 HSE

Been running on 18" Grabber ATs for the last year (changing from 20" Scorpions).

No noticeable increase in road noise, better ride, believe a slightly reduced fuel consumption (@1mpg) due to friction? Not circumference as that is the same! .

Tyres are a hugely subjective subject. There is no all round tyre to suit everyone's needs. You need to be realistic about the driving you do.

Are you needing off road grip on a regular basis? Even road bias tyres will handle farm tracks, gravel roads and will cross field if the field is decent.

Some of my own thoughts on tyres and my driving:

last sets of tyres on my RR have been kumhos - mainly STX KL12's. At the moment, I cant see past Kumho's over any other brand in terms of normal road tyres.

I originally had STX KL12's all round. They've performed brilliantly for me in the west of scotland in terms of handling the water puddles at speed ( way better than dunlops on before ) nad last well in terms of general wea and also did very well in the cold conditions the last couple of years. I ordered a pair at the start of the year and was given KL21's instead. Different tread pattern, more road orientated. No complaints from them so far, but do wonder about the water clearing ability and a bit concerned they'll be horrendous in the snow / ice - hence they are on the rear.

One thing I notice about my RR though is that its quite heavy on the edges of the tyres on the front - both inside and out. The KL12's dont have a particularly large tread block on the outer edges of the tyre, so this has worn down almost to smooth, yet the centre tread depth is pretty good.

I suppose the wear is down to my commute having a number of roundabouts which I typically make the car work to get around and this is loading the edges of the tyres. and wearing them fast. In fact, I've having to replace the tyres cause of this outside edge wear and not the central wear. The newer KL21's have a bigger tread block on the edge, so I think they'll last longer.

I dont think that spending double on a so called 'brand name' tyre would see me double the performance. I've never felt that my tyres have under-performed per say.

So for me, from now on, I'd be considering the size of the edge of the tread in order that I can get a bit more wear from them.

See how I mean its a subjective topic !  V8 or else ...

So would a 19" wheel with 255/50/ZR19 107Y tyres on (pirellis) be ok on a 2004 4.4 V8 petrol? Or is that the spurt size. They should fit ok shouldn't they?

Sorry to jump in on this post but i have been looking to see what size tyres i should have on my 18" wheels on my 2003 hse it has BF Goodridges all terain at moment 265/65/18. Been rining round today and unable to realy get any answers

@james.... the 255/50/19 is indeed a RRS tyre size...it will fit but your speedo will be out..

@ M90got, if I am correct, standard wheels on the 2002/3 era RRs should be fitted with 255/60/18. That's what my HSE has got on, even though I bought a Spurt set of wheels, kept the same tyre size.

On this calculation I would hazard a guess that 22s would be

255/40/22
