Supercharged on autotrader

Under 13k for a 56' plate done 140k..still think it's an absolute steal at this money....is this the sign of things to come for us supercharged owners?

140 clap is a lot on a petrol engine and the price of fuel isn't doing thirsty motors any favours at all now.

For the jag engine I wasn't too concerned as there pretty robust... I'd be more worried about a diesel variant with high miles.

I do feel it's the vast fuel consumption of these cars thats causing the freefall. Are they any more thirstier than a '55 amg or an m5 but these cars hold there money not too bad?

You think high milage supercharged examples of the range rover will reach 10k next year?

I considered an M5 before the SC, and it does similar MPG to the SC, but can only run on Super Unleaded, so in that you're paying diesel prices for SC consumption! I believe the AMG is similar to the M5.
The M's and AMG's have more of a cult following the RR's and people are somehow more willing to pay higher prices for them to experience their ballistic performance. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

That engine, in all its variants gets ringy at 150k. I've had 4 motors with either the 4.0 S/C or the 4.2 S/C and run them all to the point where they were losing compression or burning oil. Fairly consistently around the 150 clap mark for all of them. All had main dealer FSH.

The TDV8 will do a lot more miles before that kind of trouble sets in and we know of a couple of TD6's with 400k on them. The TDV8 is just a larger variant of the TDV6 as fitted to Discovery and we have an example of that on disco3.co.uk with 400 clap on it.

Given the above and also the cost of replacing the petrol motor it's no surprise that prices for the S/C are as they are. You'd need to factor in 5 or 6 grand to cover an engine failure or overhaul. Anything over 100k makes it very difficult to get a warranty, another reason for the price being low.

10k next year?? I reckon so for the high milers.

On the tdv8's I don't think you would get much change from 4k on any sorting issues relating to the sequential turbos...and we all know they don't last forever.

10k next year?? I reckon so for the high milers.

Damn iPhone!!! Sorry

I was saying...
All car types will have issues at high miles supercharged included but when it gets to big miles especially on the tdv8's I don't think you would get much change from 4k on sorting issues relating to the sequential turbos...and we all know they don't/won't last forever. always an achilles heel for diesels is how hard worked the turbos are to compensate for the oil burner.

I had an 07 s320 which participated in a little turbo failure costing a new turbo, exhaust system and intercooler at a nice little 4k, sequential turbos even more scary I would presume?
