Then when you phone them up after seeing it on AT they tell you that it won't be due in from the factory for another 6 / 8 weeks

Even in the used car market, adverts are not what they seem. It's shocking the number of cars advertised that don't actually exist. They sell them and leave the advert on AutoTrader to get people to call about them, then they tell you "we have another one due in next week" - I can't be arsed with that sort of behaviour. |

When I was looking to buy my FF, I had a weekend when I planned to drive around and look at several. I made a note of several advertised on internet. One dealer I phoned told me one of the salesmen had borrowed it for the weekend did I want to try Monday! Another place I tried said the car was not there that day.

I've said it before. What you need to understand about most car dealers is that they're only barrow boys in a suit. The overwhelming majority do it only for the money and it shows. Poor product knowledge, underhand sales tactics (lies, lies and more lies) and an obvious pure self interest in any dealings. Think of them as parasites who leech off customers and give as little as they can possibly get away with in return. Avoid them like you would avoid a dose of the clap.

You shouldn't be upset with that post, that's your competition he's talking about. |
