2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Oslo Blue

I'm in Stockport so only an hour at moat from Preston. I will see what E H say. My head is saying take it back but I know I'll be gutted when I do! I've seen a few before this and u can tell they look tired etc this one is a minter. The engine is spot on u can tell it's not been thrashed so yeah may be Preston is a good shout. One thing is the LPG looks less than 12 months old and the previous owner got rid after one year of owning it so may be he knew something.... Must admit I had an intermittent fault with an old BMW that meant head needed stripping and a piston replacing. First thin I did was look for a new car to part ex against! One dealer wouldn't take it then found dame car at another dealer he just asked if it had MOT and service then just took it in!! maybe this owner has done same, doesn't make sense after spending £2k on a conversion to then part ex after only 12 months. Maybe EH knew about it which is why they are not quibbling to take it back!!

I'm just playing devils advocate but strange how it went wrong an hour after purchase doubt that's coincidence

I feel for you !

The price seem a good buy specially with an lpg !

I understand what you mean about it being a good one and wouldnt find another.

I know when we were looking for ours It became a headache after a few weeks of looking!

You also get disheartened when the car you are buying was once a 70K plus car and it has so much niggly problems and so uncared for.
We had found a 23k miles black what we wanted and the owner said it was mint and travelled into London to see it (140 miles from home). When I got there every panel had some kind of dings, dents and deep scratches. Walked away form that one.

I had a few more disappointments and even one Censored kept my deposit even after he pulled out of the deal ****er!

If I was in your shoes Id speak to the EH and see if you can get the price of the gearbox replacement taken off and get it done yourself !

I always wondered why these rangies are so uncared for by the owners apart from the owners on this forum ?

Spoke to the manager at EH yesterday and he is happy to take back the car with a full refund. sounds like he has a q of ppl wanting it and says they are fetching more at auction than the £13K I paid! doubt that but can see that they go up in value around this time!

So it appears my RR ownership was shortlived! It was fun while it lasted and they are a lovely machine, just that now I have the option to take back the car I will kick myself if I dont and something goes wrong. Half of me wants him to refuse to take it back and just fix it haha. But this offer is too good to turn down I suppose.

Will now be waiting till after Christmas to purchase another. Or I may just get the evoque brand new, they keep catching my eye I know its totlally different car and I'm not comparing it to a FF just that in this day and age with fuel and repair bills what they are, may be safer to buy new with 40+ Mpg. saving £150pm in fuel and potential repair bills of £x000's can go towards the finance costs of a new one!

Will miss my heating steering wheel though Sad
