Who on here runs a facelift 4.2 supercharged Vogue?

And whats the running costs like in all honesty?Ive had my heart set on a diesel Vogue but sum of the supercharged ones for sale are simply stunning!!
What king of miles do you get to 50quid for example?
Whatever i get it will only be used as a 3rd car but always thought in this day and age a petrol will drop alot more money that a td6.

I have had one for 6 year but being honest running costs and such i have never looked into that much ….. on average on a good day you can expect to get about 14/15 mpg , on a c.unt of a day expect about 10 ..

For £50 i couldn't say as i either just fill it up or put as much in until i get bored standing at the pump … Laughing Laughing which you'll do a lot of Laughing

Granted the diesels will hold their price better than the petrols , but no matter what you go for you'll get depreciation on both vehicles …..

And if running costs are an obstacle best go for the Diesel …… Thumbs Up

No running cost aint an obsticle at all its just the s/c Vogue is def better value because its a petrol but i doubt id drive it any faster than if i had a diesel which to me defeats the purpose.Hence why im asking about the fuel so it a greedy thing whatever way u drive it?A mate had a ml55 amg and that could chew fuel for fun!!
Ihear the petrol engines are pretty bulletproof is that true?

I run a Supercharged on LPG. For £50 worth of LPG I'll get around 200 miles, possibly up to 280 on a run.

In my experience I drive it faster than I would any other Range Rover, both because it's such humungous fun with the 4.2 SC engine, and also because on LPG you just feel you can. When running it on petrol I find I'm a bit more restrained.

Average MPG in the real world is 12.5-15 mpg, though I don't doubt you could see single figures if you tried! Equally, I could probably get it up to more like 18 mpg on a run, but that's the beauty of the conversion, I enjoy bombing along the motorway at the speed I feel I want to go, not driving for economy!

£50 on petrol will probably get you around 125 miles.

Having on as a third car would be strange, in that I suspect you'd find you'd want to drive it all the time, instead of your first or second. I think it pairs well with a sports car, or an economical run around, possibly both!

Overall it's probably the best value car on the market. Look at Dreamcarhire.com, they offer Astons, Lambo's, etc. and a RR Sport Supercharged. The Full Fat SC is of course superior to the RRS, and is certainly the only 'Dream Car' you can buy for £20k. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I run one - had the same dillema as you but when you look at what you get with the Supercharged, for me it was a no brainer - so much nicer to drive than a diesel (IMHO !)

I got mine converted to LPG like Bozmandb9 - it's actually my wifes car - she does loads of town stop start, school runs etc and it averages 11.5MPG on LPG (would prob be about 13ish on petrol)

On a decent run I can get 14 - 15 on LPG which is prob about 18ish if running on petrol, although the money equivalent is about 26mpg The best I have seen on the computer was 22.6 after a 400ish mile run sitting at 75......that was on petrol before I converted it

I run a BMW M3 and it is averaging (on my journeys) about 20mpg on Superunleaded - pound for pound it costs the same to run as the Supercharged.

I reckon that a diesel doing the same journeys as my wife would prob be about 18 so overall I'm still glad that I went the SC route - personal preference and all that Thumbs Up

Oh......and then there is the sound of that engine Laughing Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

£50? You'll get £125 miles around town. 200 miles if it's mixed A and B roads. I used mine to commute 20 miles return to my work for a few weeks until I realised it would be £80 a week in fuel rather than the £20 I put in the Triumph every 10 days.

But on a positive note, I've never had so much fun and got so much enjoyment out of a car that can carry my family, luggage and much more!

If you've got the itch... Scratch it! Thumbs Up

I may be one of the newest supercharged owners on here...just into m 3rd week of ownership and I absolutely love it, i don't really know what it is about the SC but i just want to drive it all the time!!! I think its maybe the driving position or the comfort or the power or the.....

I drive around town and get 11.2 mpg and that driving very lightly i don't drive the car hard at all, I think to be honest the fuel consumption is the only achilles heel the car has.

I was actually looking for a td6/tdv8 but an opportunity to by a 35th Anniversary came along and i just loved the colour! and because there were only in SC form I took the plunge.

Ive not had it LPG'd yet as im not sure about doing it as i only do about 20 miles a day. It costs me about £10 a day to run...doing 20miles a day.

I would only really change for the tdv8 as the tdv6 is grossly underpowered but I'm not a motorway mile muncher i couldn't justify the extra cost...and the fact they dont do the tdv8 in claret!!!

I also have a SC.

get around 14.2 MPG but sometimes I drive it a little bit hard. Laughing

Have it a bit more than a year and made 10 500 miles. (MPG always between 15 and 12)

it is fun to drive Very Happy

perhaps my MPG doesnt seem too eco ... BUT: I have a friend who owns an s3 and her mpg is 18..

(I think for a car with that power and its weight a SC isnt tooo thirsty)

sorry, but a td6 is boring to drive Mr. Green

If its a 3rd car and doing little milage go for the SC but a very good one to keep the costs of repair down.

You will however end up using it more than you think and it will start costing your arm and leg, then your other leg and arm...... to run it as fuel goes up every other week at the minute.

I got my TD6 and used to bike to work every week... i havent done that for 2 weeks now and used plenty of things as excuses not to ride in tbh so already gone through a tank of diesel juice in a week Sad

I've had mine for 13 months, and typically average about 15.5mpg, which is 50-50 mix of dual carriageway / in town driving.

We averaged 20mpg during a 2000 mile round trip to the south of France this summer which i was quite pleased with.

It has a drink problem, but its worth it Thumbs Up

Kris, are you sure you don't have a TDV8? 200 miles for £50 equates to 25 mpg! If that's from an S/C I'll eat my pants! Rolling with laughter Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

Ive had all engines, TD6, S/C and now TDV8. The S/C is lovely in terms of effortless silent driving with immediate respones, the TDV8 has a slight lag at low revs when setting off but once moving is a great performer with 25 mpg driving no matter how hard i push it, 30+ on a motorway run, and the TD6 which is just poor in comparison to either of the other 2.

If you do little miles get the S/C, it will be £5k cheaper than a TDV8 if not more, i do business miles now so swapped from S/C to TDV8. A little part of me wishes i hadnt, the S/C is a special car if you dont care about the low mpg. That said i love my TDV8 also but it cost £30k whereas a S/C can be bought for less than £20k these days.

Just get the newest, lowest mileage, best example you can afford, that is the main thing.

Once you have a FFRR you will be bitten forever Thumbs Up
