Which fuel in your petrol FFRR?

Quick question:

What do you fill your petrol FFRRs up with?
For the first few weeks I only used normal 'supermarket' grade fuel, but now use Shell Super Unleaded - noticed a slight improvement in MPG from about 23 (Motorway miles) to 24/24.5.

I always buy the 95 octan fuel from various brands.

98 octan is the super fuel over here.

I never bought super but I will try it May be my SC likes it Very Happy

I use swan's tears. No seriously though I found that the additives/detergents in the major brands does seem to make a difference. However I've never bothered my arse to check if it beats the price delta between supermarket and major brand. As always YMMV! (literally)

Is It really worth paying the extra for the super varieties when you make maybe 1 mpg more? 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

i filled it up with shell V-Power Fuel.

they claim that it has 100 octan and it is the best fuel Laughing

well it was only 1.02 £ per Litre.. Quite cheap Twisted Evil

I drove down from samnaun and up to the reschenpass and until now I cant decide if it is better, I think the engine is a bit more responsive.. Will try it when I'm down at normal altitude. (I'm at around 1800 m. over sea level)

It really bugs me when the petrol companies try to get you to pay extra to get a fuel which might give you slightly better economy.

If there was a snake oil they could add which would improve economy in any meaningful way, presumably they would be compelled to by the govt, or the EU, to assist with reducing co2 emissions!

I use cheapest supermarket petrol I can find, still cost £125 last petrol fill up, still that should last for 300 miles! Glad I'm now on LPG! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Over here we have the choice 92, 95 or 98 octane fuel. Had a Hyundai Santa Fe V6. Motor ran far smoother on 95/98 fuel. Also got an extra 50-60 miles per tank full. So yes extra cost was well worth it. As we have a fuel tank on our farm car only got the good stuff every 3 or 4 fill. You could realy notice the diffence
